Recruitment
Recruitment refers to the process of finding possible candidates for a job or function. It may be undertaken by an employment agency or a member of staff at the business or organization looking for recruits. Either way it may involve advertising, commonly in the recruitment section of a newspaper or in a newspaper dedicated to job adverts. Employment agencies will often advertise jobs in their windows. Posts can also be advertised at a job centre if they are targeting the unemployed.
Recruitment - Pre Internet Era
Before the Internet enabled Recruitment Websites to advertise job positions, employment opportunities were limited to browsing the classifieds section of the paper, word of mouth, pamphlets, referrals and through placement consultants. Job seekers were required to find current work related classified in their area which imposed geographical limitations upon the individuals wanting to find employment outside of their State or Country. Once a job was located the job seeker would have to type a cover letter, print out their resume and either personally deliver, send by mail, or overnight express their application to the employer. This task was not hard to do but was very expensive, time consuming and limited the number and area of employment an applicant could apply. The jobseekers only know about vacancy through these mediums - Newspaper, Placement consultants, Referrals, Hoardings, etc.
Recruitment - Post Internet Era
While many Job Seekers still use classic methods to find jobs, Recruitment websites provide Job Positions in real time all over the world. What used to take weeks now takes minutes. Recruitment websites now allow the applicant to find a job opening then submit an application/resume through password protected software and web mail. Recruitment websites have completely changed the way employers look for qualified job applications. Today, Job Seekers can search, browse and apply any time they wish regardless of time or day of the week.
A Recruitment website is a website dealing specifically with employment. Recruitment websites are designed to allow employers to post job requirements for a position to be filled. Through a job website a prospective employee can locate and fill out a job application or submit resumes over the Internet for the advertised position.

In my project I have taken a good experience of by how big companies survive in the market. It was really wonderful working with a brand known as The times group. I got to know about how effective hiring through portal is. Timesjobs.com is the fastest growing job site in India. I was working with the sales team of the company, to promote their sales in Delhi – II area.
The biggest challenge for the sales team is to eradicate the negative perception of different companies about timesjobs.com. From the last few months, Timesjobs.com has changed a lot because of its marketing campaign on TV, Print, Radio and Internet. Due to the combined efforts of the times group, they are able to solve their challenges in an excellent way.
